After all that goody stuff I posted, I want to do a quick post with a picture of our wonderful team of hostesses and their spouses.    The ladies were truly awesome – and their DH’s – wow!   What nice guys!   They helped their ladies sooooo much!    Oh and I don’t want to forget about Gina’s daughter, Rina – what a sweetie (she’s on the far right)!!

I’ll post more about the projects later this week.   Some of them did NOT get finished in class due to lack of time.  (Our teachers were very ambitious for us!  I hope to get them done soon though, and post pics in groups!  I won’t include details as these were class kits.

I’ll post several pics of the goodies – I tried to capture everything in one shot as you’ll see but it’s hard to tell what everything is.

Late birthdays

October 16, 2008

I hate when I miss birthdays.   It’s not that I miss them.    I know they are coming, I know I should make a card and get it in the mail, but I seem to never get around to making it until it’s late.    Such is the case with the following:    I used SCS SC193 (Sketch challenge) for inspiration!   Supplies:   Goofy stamp (EK Success); Cardstock:  Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Basic Black (All SU!); Inks: Versamark;  Accessories: Black embossing powder, Prismacolor markers, 1 3/8″ circle punch, SU! scallop punch.

I used the bright colors since that’s a part of Goofy’s image!  TFL!

A Wedding

October 8, 2008

This past Sunday, I attended a very unique wedding.    The ceremony was held in the middle of our usual church service where the baptisms would usually be.     You say, Wow that’s really odd!   Yes, it is, except for the fact that the bride was one of our Pastors!     Needless to say, the ceremony itself was very short.    And, being a cardmaker, I needed to make a card for the happy couple (gifts were donations to a selected charity).  I kept the card simple and elegant, at least in my opinion.   So, here it is:

I embossed the sentiment from Favor It Weddings (Papertrey Ink) for the main focal point.   The ribbon is also from PaperTrey’s Sweet Blush collection – the Luxe Satin.   I also used the small line heart from Wedding Day (PTI).   It is overlapped in Sweet Blush then overstamped with Versamark and clear embossing.   This card isn’t as clean as the one I actually gave to the Pr, so the heart images don’t line up exactly.     The swiss dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug also adds to the elegant look!

This second image attempts to show that I used foam pop dots to raise the image from the paper and also gives a better look at the hearts.      Thanks for looking!

And we’re off!

September 26, 2008

I finally decided to start a blog.   I’ve truly been considering it for awhile.   The intent of my blog will be to communicate our family life to family members and friends far away AND to showcase my love of crafting, whether it be paper crafts, sewing, beading or something else.

So with that said, I’m going to post a card.    This card was made for Kitchen Sink Stamps Monthly contest.
